  UPDATED: September 26, 2005

Fiduciary Counselors Inc. was appointed as an independent fiduciary to represent the interests of participants and beneficiaries in the Delta Retirement Plan and the Delta Pilots Retirement Plan to enforce Delta's obligations to make legally required contributions to the Plans. For the Pilots Plan, we are also responsible for determining whether and when lump sums can be paid from the plan. The Delta Employee Service Center is continuing to handle other aspects of the plan administration.

We will try to keep plan participants informed through this web site. Here is the information we have at this time:

  Pension Plan Contributions

Delta has made all contributions to date. The next payments are due October 15, 2005. When Delta filed for bankruptcy, it did not seek permission from the bankruptcy court to make contributions to the Retirement Plans. We do not anticipate that Delta will make those contributions when due.

If the Delta Retirement Plans are Terminated

If the defined benefit pension plans are terminated, some or all of your benefits are guaranteed by a federal agency, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).

You can find a list of frequently asked questions about PBGC here.
